The Ignatian Core Values The Atenean 5 c's The goal of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University Junior High School is to form individuals to be of service to the community, especially to those in need, to be open to inter-religious dialogue, to be intellectually competent across all subjects and discipline, and above all these, Pro Deo et patria, to be Men and Women for Others. The Ignatian values determine the way we relate and work with each other. These values were shared by St. Ignatius of Loyola through his journal called ‘Spiritual Exercises’. These valueswere then adapted by the Society of Jesus which was also founded by St. Ignatius. Below are some reflection questions which will help you (students) how to live out the 5 c's and what you are willing to give up to in order to serve God and your country. How can you live out the Atenean values of 5C’s and Ignatian Core Values? St.Ignatius offered his dagger and sword to Our Lady in Montserrat, as a symbol of giving up his worldly life and a desire to follow God. As an Atenean, what are you willing to give up in order to serve God and your country?
