Music is such a big part of our identity that every year we hold eisteddfodau, festivals that celebrate Welsh music and literature. But we also include music in our other great passion-rugby, or as we call it, the rugby union. It was back during the 1905 match that we sung Land of my fathers, our national anthem after the New Zealanders did their Maori Haka. It became the first time ever that a national anthem was performed before a sports event. But it soon became a trend and everybody started doing it! This is the stadium where it happened in my hometown of Cardiff. Here is another fact which proves just why Wales is swmpus, or awesome as we would say in English, it’s a country with the most castles per square mile in the whole world - 600 hundred of them, to be exact. And what's even more incredible is that people have lived in some of them for more than a thousand years! We’ll go biking with my dad through the Welsh countryside, we’ll explore our beautiful landscape and along the way we’ll visit some amazing places and castles too. First we’ll sneak a peak into our local Cardiff castle, which more than 2000 years old. Then, as we discover the northern part of Wales, we’ll take a look at the great walls of the mighty Conwy Castle. This is just one of the castles belonging to the Iron Ring of Castles, which was built by the English as a form of defence against the Welsh. Of course, we can’t miss visiting Caernarfon Castle. Did you know that Caernarfon Castle is one of the biggest castles in the world even though it was built in the 13th century?
