Problem #3 Scorching - Milk heated in a pan has a brown color and a coating has formed on the bottom of the pan.This problem can be prevented by using low heat or by heating the milk in the top of a double boiler. The steps for preparing a white sauce using a slurry are listed below. Read the steps and organize them in the correct order. 1 Combine fat free milk, flour, and seasonings in a blender container of small, covered jar. 2 Blend or shake until thoroughly mixed. 3 Cook the slurry in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. 4 Stir gently until the mixture reaches a boil. 5 Cook the slurry for one minute longer until the sauce is smooth and thickened.
