El Cucuy EL Cucuy is a Mexican urban legend. Legend says it that once upon a time a father was really angry at his kids for misbehaving. As a matter of punishment, he decided to lock his kids in his closet to learn their lesson. After a while, he decided to go to town and run some errands but he forgot to take his kids out of the closet. When he came back from the town he saw that his barn and his house caught on fire which killed the kids and the father was cursed. In disbelief, he decided to look for his kids in many closets. It has been years and he still could not find them so now he hunts kids and hides in closets at night waiting for the right moment to pounce. Some say this Mexican legend is used to get misbehaved children to behave by saying that he will get them at night if they don't behave. The Boogie Man The Bogeyman is also a type of mythical creature used by adults here in the US to frighten children into good behavior. Bogeymen have no specific appearance and conceptions vary drastically by household and culture, but they are most commonly depicted as masculine or androgynous monsters that punish children for misbehavior. The Bogeyman or similar monsters can be found in many cultures around the world. Bogeymen may target a specific act or general misbehavior, depending on what purpose needs to be served, often based on a warning from the child's authority figure. So is the term "Bogeyman" used just for terror or could it be true? El Cucuy is known to be a monster that steals and harms children that are trouble makers or that disobey their parents. Why can't the Bogeyman do the same thing? Whatever the case may be you better stay where your suppose to just in case.
