Click on the circle next to the vocabulary word and then drag a line to the circle next to the example you want to match it with. The natural world is understandable. Science allows us to understand the world around us and the way it works. Science demands evidence. There must be information gathered to support an idea BEFORE scientists publicize it to the world. Science is a blend of logic and imagination. In 1903, the Wright brothers had the crazy idea to create an airplane. After much research and experimentation, they flew the first successful airplane. Scientific knowledge is durable. We can count on the information scientists give us to be accurate and long-lasting. Scientific knowledge is subject to change. Smoking cigarettes used to be a very "normal" activity by lots and lots of people. Research has shown that cigarettes can be very dangerous to a person's health. Scientists try to identify and avoid bias (opinions). Even though Mr. Smith, a scientist, does not like to wear masks, research and evidence shows they are effective, so he wears one anyway. Science is a complex social endeavor (activity). Scientists work in teams to research and conduct experiments and then present their research together to the whole scientific community.
