I control what enters and leaves the cell. Cytoplasm I am the jelly-like substance inside the cell. Smooth ER Makes lipids, phospholipids and steroids. I’m smooth because ribosomes don’t like me. Nucleus I am the control center of the cell. I contain DNA in the form of chromosomes. Ribosomes I am the protein builder. I connect one amino acid at a time to build long protein chains. Centriole I help with cell division in animal cells. Rough ER I move things within the cell. They call me rough because I’m surrounded by ribosomes. Golgi Apparatus I am a packaging center within the cell. I combine simple molecules to make complex molecules for packaging. Lysosome I am the waste disposal system of the cell. I am responsible for the digestion and I also breakdown any bacteria. I am the destroyer! Chloroplasts I am oval in shape and am home to a green substance called chlorophyll.
