Tape diagrams help us visualize the missing parts to solve an equation.Word Problem Advice:When solving a word problem, there are a few things that we should remember. Doing the steps listed below will help us to organize the given information.- Read the problem out loud to yourself- Highlight or circle any numbers given- Underline the questionUsing a Tape DiagramTape diagrams help us visualize the information in a word problem. For every number given in a word problem, a tape diagram will be drawn.Here is an example:The local candy shop sold 2,436 lollipops last year. They sold 1,233 more chocolate bars than lollipops. How many lollipops and chocolate bars did the candy shop sell altogether.
