Master finding slope on graphs! Learn positive, negative, zero, and undefined slopes.

Choose the correct word to fill in the blanks in the paragraph below. Slope is a number that is used to describe the rate at which a line created by a set of points changes. Lines with a positive slope are moving upwards when traced from left to right. Lines with a negative slope are moving downwards when traced from left to right. Slope can be found on a graph by looking at the change in y and the change in x of two points on the line. This is normally described as rise over run. A line that is horizontal or sideways has a slope of zero, but a line that is vertical or straight up and down has an undefined slope.
