Match the units of measure to their definition. Millimetres Very small measure of length, used as standard in the construction industry. Metres Used to measure lengths e.g. the width of a garden. Kilograms This measure is equal to about a bag of sugar. Cubic metres Used to measure volume (space), e.g. how much space there is in a lorry. Litres Used to measure largish amounts of liquid like a bottle of pop. Milligram Used to measure really light things such as pills and tablets. Square metres Used to measure area (flat space), e.g. when working out how much carpet to fit in a room. Kilometres Used to measure distance, e.g. between two towns. Grams Used to weigh things - you are likely to use this measure to buy small amounts of food like mince from a butchers. Centimetres Used to measure length. A ruler is usually 30 of these. Millilitres Used to measure very small amounts of liquids, e.g. a spoonful of medicine. Degrees Celsius This measures temperature.
