They saw large periods of growth during Reconstruction, the 1920's, and the Civil Rights movement of the 1950's and 1960's. Although not near their previous numbers, the KKK has seen a recent period of growth. Watch the video and examine why this is taking place. What did you find surprising about the people who make up this version of the KKK? The KKK fell to as few as 800 members in the 1980's but have seen recent growth to over 6,000 members.
