He was probably educated at King School College in Stratford and never went to university.In 1585, when he was 18 years old, he married Anne Hathaway who was 8 years older than him. They had 1 daughter and a set of twins.In the late 1580s Shakespeare moved to London where he was working as an actor, a playwright and a poet. Shakespeare was also a businessman. In 1599 he built the largest open-air amphitheatre in London which was called "The Globe". He worked at the company "The Lord Chamberlain's Men" which belonged to Queen Elizabeth. Although when the queen died in 1603 and James I became the king, the company became "The King's Men".Shakespeare is considered to be the most important writer in English literature.
