Fill in the Blanks We meet our main character Billy Coleman. In this first chapter, Billy is an adult man walking home from WORK. On his way, Billy hears the noise of several dogs FIGHTING. Billy sees that all the city dogs are ganging up on a country dog and recognizes the breed as a REDbone coonhound. Billy tells the reader that he remembers a time when a dog just like that had given his LIFE to save Billy. Billy waves his COAT at the city dogs to chase them off. He calms the hound and finds he has a collar with the name BUDDY on it. Billy take the hound home and gives him MEAT , MILK, and a bath. The next day, Billy lets the dog go and begins to remember his past. He enters his house and looks at two CUPS on his fireplace mantel. One is SILVER and the other is GOLD. Billy tells the reader that there is a history in those cups and begins his story.
