Class discussion Imagine you have a cousin in some part of the world and you haven't met them yet. However, they are coming to visit you next month. Think about the things you might have in common with them, or the things that might be different. Would you be of the same religion, appearance, money or language? What sorts of things would you like to ask them when they arrive? Listen to a story about two girls brought up in different families. (You can also follow the text in your book on page 96-97 if you want.)Decide which sentence is true. The parents and children all get on well with each other. The children get on better than the parents. The parents get on better than the children. None of the people involved get on well. Remembering things Have you ever thought about the way you study? Do you just read the materials or you write it down, colour code, make mental maps, draw reminders or similar? From my years at school, I remember always reading some subjects out loud and sometimes even walk around the room.Think: What do you think, on what depends how you are going to remember things? How do you remember all the details when you are reading a book, for example?Below you have a type of a mental map. Vocabulary practiceIn task 6 there are phrasal verbs from the text. As you know, nouns are formed out of verbs in English language. As the case is, there are three ways to write a ver+preposition structure: 1) separated is for the verbs, 2) the structure united is for nouns, 3) the structure united but with a dash is for nouns. These are the result of the English language changing through out history (from separated, to dash, to a complete unit).Try to write the phrasal verbs below as nouns. verb nounmix up - mix-up(e.g.)drop out - drop-outget away - get-awayhold up - hold-upsell out - selloutturn out - turnout James Blunt Bio One of my favourite musicians from when I was your age is James Blunt.
