Ability Ability means you can (or cannot) do something Please watch the video carefully! Please match the correct verb to the rule. 1) To express ability in the present, we use can express general ability in the past, we use could .3) To express a particular abilitiy in the past, we use was able to, managed to, succeeded in (-ing) or couldn't.We use could in this context with verbs of perception (see, hear, smell, taste, feel, understand etc.)4) To express ability in the future we use will be able to/ won't be able to.5) When an infinitive or -ing form is needed, we use be able to or being able to.
