Fill in the blanks on motivation types... Intrinsicmotivation is when someone participates in physical activity without any external reward. It is when an individual participates in sport for enjoyment. When individuals are asked why they play sport, it is because “it is fun”. There are three specific parts to intrinsic motivation:1.Motivated by accomplishment- This is when an athlete focuses on improving a specificskill for a sense of accomplishment.2.Motivated by stimulation- This is when an athlete seeks an adrenalinerush3.Motivated by knowledge- This is when an athlete is being curious about their own performance and determined to developand improve.Extrinsicmotivation is when an individual is motivated by an external mechanism. The most common forms is by tangible or intangible rewards. Tangible rewards are those which can be physically givento an athlete, for example money, medals and trophies.Intangiblerewards are non-physical rewards such as praise and encouragement from others. Task-orientated Ability-orientated Ego This involves an individual who believes in ability and talent oppose to effort Task-orientated Ego-orientated Social-orientated Thinking about the types of motivation and the theories of motivation, how do they influence you as an individual and your sporting performance?
