Vacation Mail Dear Grandma, We've been on vacation in Grand Cayman for almost a week now. Ourhotel is nice. They give you little bars of face soap and little bottles of shampoo. The most fun I've had so far is snorkeling in the ocean. Dad decided to take me with him after we'd been here for only one day. I had to promise to obey the safety rules at all times! Dad taught me how to move the funny rubber feet. Then I learned to breathe through a snorkel. Later that afternoon, we went along the coast by boat to a coral reef. When we turned the motor off and stopped the boat, Dad and another diver jumped over the side. Then I went in, yelling, "Here goes nothing!" I swam near the surface. A beautiful angelfish swam right in front of my face. A canary fish brushed my side. My feeling was one of total wonder. I am going to write a poem about swimming with the fish. Dad had to drag me out of the water. Then we changed out of out swimsuits and into our clothes and got the other diver to take a picture of us. Can you tell that we forgot to comb our hair? It got a bit cold and I got a sore throat, but it was worth it!Love,TracyDear Tracy, How lucky you are to be on Grand Cayman! This morning the temperature here fell to zero, and my old oak tree is totally covered with snow. Outside, Mr. Johnson's pony is puffing his white breath into the air. I am stuck indoors for a while-I tripped and broke my toe yesterday. I loved your letter. The picture of you and your dad is very funny! I'll bet snorkeling is really fun. I've never been, but I watched a program about it on television last month. Well, hurry home! I fount out I will be the coach of the Hillsboro soccer team. We start proactive next week. By then I will be able to walk. Why not come with me to practice?Love you,Grandma
