Let's start with some grammar! We will practice our homophones that we've learned so far, which are IT'S / ITS and WHO'S Below, please sort the homophones by putting the sentences with the correct usage. Writing Practice: You will be responding to a series of prompts. This is meant to practice various writing styles aside from RACES paragraphs. Please write your best (grammar, organizing, spelling, punctuation, etc.) and answer the prompts fully. You will be graded on basically if you can answer the question and write a decent response. Have fun, and do your best! Prompt #1: Describe your family for me. How many kids are there? What do your parents do for work? What do you like to do as a family? Tell me about them in at least 5 good sentences. Prompt #2: If your teachers were animals, what animals do you think they would be? Base your answers off of their physical traits, personality, habits, etc. Tell me five teachers, what animal they'd be, and explain why you chose that for them. Write five sentences, one for each teacher. Prompt #3:Describe your potential best day ever. What would you do? What would you eat? Who would you be with? What would the weather be like? (For your best day ever, don't worry about money.) It didn't have to actually happen. Just tell me what would make your best day ever in at least 6 sentences. Prompt #4: If you invented a video game, what kind of game would you create? What would gamers do in your video game? What would be the goal of the game (build a farm, eliminate terrorists, etc.)? What would it be called? Describe your new video game in at least 6 good sentences. Prompt #5: This is a creative writing exercise. I want at least 10 sentences for this one! (Don't worry, it will be easier than the others), and yes, you can go over 10 sentences if you want. I really want you to tell me a good story. Give me some characters, a setting, a plot, all that fun stuff. I would really love to have an enrapturing (gripping, captivating) story to read over the weekend. :)Use the sentence in the picture as your first line, then finish the story from there.
