Introduction We will write a lot in ENL class! This is to improve your score on the writing section of the WIDA test.Throughout the year, we will practice different writing structures. ( WIDA looks for organization!) One of these structures is informational writing using the "5 Ws" (who, what, when, where, why, how). Today, you will complete a diagnostic writing using that structure. This writing will let me see what you already know about this structure and what you still need to practice. DON'T RUSH! Take your time and show me your best writing! First, you will answer some questions about plagiarism (copying Plagiarism will result in a zero on any assignment! 1) What does it mean to cheat in school? Answer in 1-2 complete sentences. 2) What are some examples of cheating? Answer in 1-2 complete sentences. 3) Why do you think students might cheat on tests Answer in 1-2 complete sentences. 4) What can students do to keep from being temped to cheat on school work? Answer in 1-2 complete sentences. 5) Prewrite Fill in the following chart with information about your summer. This information can be real or made up. I will never know!!You do not need to write in complete sentences. Who? (one person you saw this summer and when) What? (one thing you did this summer and when) Where? (one place you went this summer and when) How? (How was your summer?) Why? (Why would you describe your summer that way?) DO NOT COPY AND PASTE FROM THE INTERNET! THIS WILL RESULT IN A ZERO!6) You will write a 6-8 sentence paragraph about your summer. You MUST meet this length requirement!This can be real or made up-I will never know!You must begin each sentence with a capital letter and end each sentence with ending punctuation.This is your opportunity to show me what your strengths are as a writer and what you still need to practice.
