Thesubject of a sentence names the person, place, or thing thesentence is about.The predicate of a sentence tells what the subject is or does.Here is a story. You add the subject for each predicate so that the story makes sense. 1. Emily takes swimming lessons.2. Sam goes with her to her swimming lessons.3. Sam dives from the board.4. Emily is on the swim team.5. The team practices after school.6. Emily is the team captain.7. Her team swims against other swim teams.8. Each team dives into the water.9. The race is very close.10.
