Complete the following matching worksheet. Musical Elements Matching: Vocabulary Melody The main part of the song; the "main idea" or the most memorable part. Harmony The supporting part of the song; Think of the legs of a table. Rhythm The organized patterns of the song; long and short sounds and silences. Tempo The speed of the music; fast, medium, or slow. Time Signature Specifies how many beats are in each measure. Dynamics The loudness or softness of sound. Think of the volume switch on the radio. Down Beat An accented beat, usually the first in a measure. Bar Line Placed on a musical staff to isolate the divisions of time. Treble Clef A clef placing G above middle C on the second lowest line. Bass Clef A clef placing F below middle C on the second highest line. Beat Basic unit of time. Musical Elements Drawing: Rhythm On the music staff draw a bass or treble clef and a 4 time signature.
