ACTIVIDAD 1: Read and Identify the colours Read the above passage in blue, use the image and what you know about animal vocabulary to identify the colours of the animals that are mentioned. Fill in the table below with the Spanish colours.* I have recorded the passage in blue below if you would like to listen and read at the same time/ check pronunciation. You can access the recording by clicking on the play button below where it says 'listen to instructions'. You can watch until 2: 30 mins or go further and watch the entire video as an extension activity. The video is entirely in Spanish so you will not understand everything. Just try to learn the colours and notice their pronunciation. You may also surprise yourself with how much you understand with the help of the pictures. Also take note of how we can change the way we write colors up in the left hand side of the corner. Can you guess why they change like that? This video will help you for the next activity so pay attention. ACTIVIDAD 3: colour table Colours are a describing word so they are called adjectives. I know it is the opposite to English but when we use colours in Spanish they go behind the word they are describing, not in front. It will seem very strange, but this is how it is in Spanish.English example= the red bookSpanish example= el libro rojo ( see how the colour goes behind the noun- the book!)As you watched in the video above, the way you write and say the colours will depend on whether the thing we are talking about is masculine, feminine or plural.English example= the red books (plural)Spanish example= los libros rojos ( masculine and plural)Now it's your turn to fill in the chart below. The first one is done for you and some of the other boxes have been filled out. Be careful because only some of the colours have a masculine and feminine form. Feel free to rewatch the video to help you!
