The Destruction of Tea at Boston Harborby Nathaniel Currier, 1846 School House Rock: The Boston Tea Party This video is an oldie but a goodie. It is just a fun way to open our DBQ. There are some important facts that are not covered in the video, that will be covered in the documents to come. OVERVIEW OF DBQ: On December 16, 1773, angry colonists in Massachusetts threw 340 chests of British East Indian tea into Boston Harbor. This event, which was later named "The Boston Tea Party," was a turning point in the relationship between the American colonies and Great Britain. Two years later, the colonists went to war to fight for their independence. But why destroy tea? The documents in this Mini-Q will help you answer this question. You will receive one document at a time as we work through the DBQ together on a twice a week Zoom meeting; Tuesday and Thursday at 1:30 pm. Invites will be sent out the day before.
