Types of Thinking

In your small group, discuss each scenario while using the Thinking indicator of the TEAM rubric. Next, determine what type of thinking described in the scenario. Finally, drag and drop the scenario into the appropriate type of thinking category.While it's possible that some scenarios could belong in multiple categorizes, please pick the best type of thinking represented by the scenario. Analytical Students examine in detail the structure or parts of a story interpret the meaning of the text, and explain the author’s purpose. Students use a Venn diagram to describe how two landforms are similar and different. Students appraise and make judgements about the validity of thoughts on deforestation or answers and explain conclusions on human impacts. Practical Students learn area and perimeter then use their knowledge to design a dream home with furniture and appliances. Students learn what plants need to survive and then they used their knowledge to grow seedlings that can be transferred to a school garden. Students learn about government and how laws are made then write letters to the governor to advocate for policy change. Creative Students brainstorm a set design that adheres to specific criteria for a play. Students learn about animal habitats then construct a habitat based on the needs of an imaginary animal’s needs. Students are given a writing prompt to develop a fictional story that includes characters, setting, major events, and a problem to solve. Research-Based Students examine different professions and use the learned information to present on the profession that most aligns with their areas of interest. Students research what is necessary for a healthy meal and the cost of foods, and then use what they learned to create a new cafeteria menu. Students explore different styles and time periods of music and then develop playlist of music that represents a specific time period.
