4.1.8 Accounting and Tracking

When you log into a system that has this type of security logging software, that software will record how you logged in, what time you logged in, which programs and files you worked on (and at what times), and when you sign out. Accounting can keep track of different things like computer systems, people using the computer, files, and even remote connections.For example, the resources could be the database programs the user opens in the course of their day-to-day work. If those important assets move outside the line, it sends a warning to the IT department that someone might have moved the company's equipment. Are you at home, or are you somewhere else on vacation? There are actually some valid reasons to let your browser keep doing this, even if it seems intrusive. For example, if you're hungry and want to order a pizza, searching online will show you pizza places near you. You can choose if you want your location to be tracked or not by turning this setting on or off whenever you like.When you travel to a different part of the world and try to log into common apps such as Gmail, your account might get flagged. This is because logging in from a location you've never been to, or don't typically go to, looks suspicious. This could look like someone else trying to get into your account. The site owners flag your account, or reach out to you through your cellphone or other backup method, to help stop anyone who shouldn't be getting into your account.
