What is a least common multiple (LCM) and how do we find it? A least common multiple is the smallest common multiple of two or more numbers. For example, if we have the numbers 5 and 12, the smallest multiple that both 5 and 12 share would be 60. We can write it like this to help us visualize it:5: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 7012: 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72Notice that each list of numbers includes all of the possible multiples of that number. When we write it out like this, we are able to easily see the smallest number that is in both of the lists. The least common multiple of 5 and 12 is 60. Fill in the blanks with the correct numbers. 4: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 285: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 356: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 487: 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 568: 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 6410: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 Fill in the blank with the least common multiple for each of the following pairs. 4: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 285: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35Lease Common Multiple: 208: 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 5610: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60Least Common Multiple: 409: 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 5412: 12, 24, 36, 48, 60Least Common Multiple: 366: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 6010: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 8015: 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90Lease Common Multiple: 30 Match each pair of numbers with their least common multiple. 12 & 4 12 8 & 6 24 15 & 6 30 7 & 3 21
