Scalar Distance: the total length an object travels. Average Speed: the total distance traveled along its path diveded by the time it takes to travel this distance. only magnitude Speed: signifies the magnitude or the object. The car travels in a circle and returns to its orginal position. Because the car travels 1000m around the circle in 20 seconds, the cars average speed will be 50 meters per second. Vector Displacement: How far and in what direction the objectis from it's starting place. Velocity: signifies the magnitude and also the direction. Average Velocity: the displacement divided by the time it take to travel this distance. The car travels in a circle and because it returns to its orginal position the car hasn't been displaced. Therefore no matter how fast the car travels around the circle, the cars average velocity will always be zero.
