There are two theoretical models of the solar system. The first one is the geocentric model. In this model, all objects in the solar system move around the Earth and the Earth does NOT move. The Coriolis Effect and the Foucault Pendulum proved that the geocentric model is incorrect and the Earth rotates. The Sun is the central body of the heliocentric model in which the Earth and the planets, asteroids, comets and meteoroids orbit the Sun.
