Fill in the blanks relating to glomerular filtration rate The rate that fluid is filtered from the blood to into the Bowman's capsule is called the glomerular filtration rate. The major component that drive this is the water potential. High pressure raises the water potential. Because the afferent arteriole is wider than the efferent arteriole, the pressure inside the glomerulus is high. If you were reverse this, and the efferent arteriole was wider this would reduce the water potential in the glomerulus. List the four factors that make the proximal convoluted tubule adapted to function in reabsorption. Look in your textbook if you are lost!
