2 Types of Waves Using the infograph above fill in the following blanks using the word bank provided. There are two main types of waves. The type that requires a medium to pass through is called a Mechanical Wave. There are two types of mechanical waves. One of these includes sound waves and are known as Longitudinal waves. The other type of Mechanical wave that includes water waves is known as Transverse waves.The type of wave that does not require a medium to travel through is called an Electromagnetic Wave. Frequency is the number of complete waves to pass a fixed point in a second and is measures in Herts (Hz). We can calculate the speed of a wave using the equation V=fλ which stands for Speed = frequencyXWavelength. In your science binder...
