What is a "Direct Object"? Read the following sentence:The frogs see a boy.In that sentence, the noun "frogs" is the subject. It is the subject because it is doing the action of the verb."Boy" is the direct object. It is the direct object because it "receives" the action.Although it seems silly to go about asking you to look at a sentence in your native language and ask "what is the direct object of this verb?" and "what is the direct object of that verb?", it is not always obvious in a new language.
