PART 1: (READING). READ THE TEXT AND THEN COMPLETE THE ACTIVITIES THAT FOLLOW. GET IT TOGETHER!!Do you often feel like you don’t have enough time to finish all your tasks?Do you spend a lot of time studying but you still get low grades?Do you have trouble concentrating in classes?Do you delay your homework and put off your projects until the last day?Was your answer ‘Yes’ to all or some of these? Maybe you need to learn some strategies that will help you become more successful.There are many things that lead to student success. For example, having good study skills and habits, getting help from teachers and counselors and staying healthy and doing sports. Another very important thing is time management. Many teenagers are very bad at this- they just can’t organize their time well! For example, do you do other activities while studying, like texting your friends or watching TV? You probably think you are saving time like this. However, this has a negativeeffect on your ability to think and learn. Many research studies show that our brains are not able to focus on more than one difficult task at once. Studies also show that students who do this get lower grades than students who focus on one thing at a time. These students need more time to complete their work and receive lower exam grades.The next big problem is procrastination. Do you struggle with starting your homework and projects on time? Do you avoid school and class work and do other things instead? Or do you just quit when you don’t know how to do something? This means you are a procrastinator and you always say "I'll do it later".Here are some strategies that can help you:Set your goals and organize your tasks - Use calendars, alarms, notebooks and lists.Do things one at a time.Avoid distractions while you study (like TV, phone, busy spaces.)Stop procrastinating and start doing things on time! 1.1.- After reading the article, what do you think the title ‘Get it together’ means? Have a look at some different kinds of procrastinators in the picture above.Which one are you?Explain with some examples from your life. You can choose more than one if you want.
