CPC Cumulative Review Unit 5 LT6 Models
Modified Bohr models for atoms can be used as evidence to support why atoms have different sizes and different levels of reactivity. A modified Bohr model should: have the correct number of protons in the nucleus (ex: 19p+ for potassium) have the correct number of energy levels to hold all electrons (concentric circles) include electrons only in the outer shell (valence electrons). (This is the modification - assuming rather than showing that all inner shells are full of electrons) 1. Complete the following Bohr models For each model shown, either complete the number of protons or the name of the element. 4 Boron Sodium 17 2. Sort the elements! Click on an element and choose which group it best belongs to! Elements with three energy levels Sodium Chlorine Silicon Elements with 2 valence electrons Calcium Beryllium Barium Elements that do not fit the other two categories Oxygen Lithium 3. Draw a modified Bohr model for Magnesium
