We were so excited when Mom and Dad said we could get a pet! The first thing we had to do was decide which kind of pet we wanted. Then we decided that a dog would be best for our family. We also decided we wanted a rescue dog. We went to the nearby pet store that has rescue dogs every Saturday. Standing behind all these big dogs was a little pup looking right at me. After one look, I knew he was the dog for me! 2. Read the paragraph below. Select the correct transition word for each blank. Use the word bank that appears when you click the blank to select the correct transition word or phrase. I am usually very good with dogs. For the most part, I get along well with them, and they really seem to listen to me. For example, I've trained my dog to sit, stay, and do tricks. Also, I taught my neighbor's large dog to walk without tugging on the leash. However, I didn't have as much luck with her small dog. It still pulls and pulls when I walk it. Fortunately, it's a learning experience for me. Now I'm helping my friend, Olivia, train her dog too. All in all, I have a natural ability to connect with dogs, but at the same time, I'm not perfect.
