My teacher explained to us that we had to write a persuasive essay in order to try to convince the principal to let us have more time at lunch. My claim was easy to come up with because I believe that it is unhealthy for students to have to devour their lunches so quickly in the short time we have at lunch. I supported my claim with evidence I found about how our bodies are able to digest our food better when we eat at a slower rate. For awhile, the persuasive essay consumed my thoughts. I mean, all I could think about was finding more and more evidence to support my claim! I also made sure that I kept my essay respectful since the audience I was writing for included adults. I hope they will take the time to process my thoughts and hopefully be convinced to think the same way I do!!
