Master triangle types: equilateral, isosceles, scalene, acute, obtuse, and right triangles!

I just wanted to summarize the video. There are 2 ways to classify triangles, one is by their sides and the other is by their angles. There were some weird words in there and of course you know me...I have some tricks to help you remember them. Listen for sounds of the words I emphasize to help you. The triangle that has 2 sides the same is called an isosceles triangle. I remember this because I have 2 eyes and in an isosceles triangle there are 2 sides the same. In the triangle that does not have any sides the same it is called a scalene. I remember the n in scalene for no; no sides are the same. As the video mentioned for equilateral I remember this because of the word equal so all sides are the same. I know some of you like Khan Academy so here is a video to summarize the 6 different triangles. He states the measurements of the angles, again measuring angles will be in future grades. You in 3rd grade will just have to be able to identify the angle and describe it as greater than a right angle which would be called an obtuse angle, an angle that is less than a right angle which would be called an acute angle and a right angle which is also called 90º angle. acute triangle obtuse triangle right triangle Acute triangle Obtuse triangle Right triangle Which figure is an obtuse triangle? s Which figure is a right triangle? Identify and match the triangles based on their side lengths. Equilateral Triangle Isosceles Triangle Scalene Triangle Equilateral Triangle Obtuse Triangle Acute Triangle
