Morphology
Fill in the blanks using words that we learned from our last lesson. The study of words and their structure is called morphology. The smallest unit of meaning in a language is called a morpheme. When we know a word, we also know different kinds of information about that word. We know its phonetic information which is the knowledge about its pronunciation and sounds. We also know its lexical structure which is the information about the parts that make up a word. In addition, when we know the syntactic information about a word, it means that we know where and how we can use that word in a sentence.
