The Great Aqua Adventure: The Water Cycle Watch this video about the water cycle. Listen and watch carefully.Pay attention to the following terms:evaporation, condensation, water vapor, and precipitation. 1. Water Cycle Diagram Label the diagram using the following words: precipitation, sun, evaporation, clouds, condensation, water 2. Fill-in-the-blanks in the paragraph below. The driving force behind the water cycle is the energy from the sun.The sun heatsup water on land and in the oceans, lakes, and seas. The water changes from liquid to vapor in a process called evaporation. The water vapor cools in a process called condensation, which forms droplets in the atmosphere. These droplets become clouds. The droplets (or ice crystals if it’s cold enough) gather and then fall from the sky in a process called precipitation. The precipitation gathers flows into streams and rivers, which eventually lead to lakes or oceans. 3. Match the terms with their definitions. condensation Water vapor in the air gets cold and changes back into liquid, forming clouds. evaporation When the sun heats up water in rivers, lakes, or ocean and turns it into vapor or steam. precipitation Water that falls back to the earth in the form of rain, hail, sleet, or snow. 4. Draw It! Create your own diagram of the water cycle. Use the picture from question 1 to help you. Use any tools you'd like. Game Time! You may only play these game AFTER you have answered all the questions.
